This 16 years old single malt scotch whisky from the Glengyle Distillery has been wonderfully matured "reportedly" in a combination of 60-65 % ex-sherry casks, 30-35 % ex-bourbon casks and ~ 5 % ex-rum casks. Bottled on 01/05/23.

Nose: rich honey, caramel, lemon and slight pineapple and perhaps a bit meaty as well Palate: honey and caramel sweetness, lemon and raspberry sourness Finish: medium to long finish with charred oak notes

The second release from the Kanosuke Distillery located on the picturesque shores of Fukiagehama beach in Kagoshima. Distilled from unpeated malt in 2018, this release is largely matured in first fill re-charred ex-bourbon barrels for about 3+ years. About 5,000 bottles have been released at a cask strength ABV of 57%. 

Nose: citrus, vanilla, honey and lemon tea
Palate:  grapefruit with some cinnamon sweetness 
Finish: a balance of sweet fresh fruits, vanilla and dark chocolate bitterness

Rated 90 Points/Silver Medal at IWSC 2022.

Kanosuke Single Malt 2021 First Edition was produced at Kanosuke Distillery between 2017~2018 and is their first single malt Japanese whisky. Made with unpeated malt, it is bottled at cask strength from a blend of barrels, with re-charred American white oak ex-'Mellowed Kozuru' aged shochu casks as key.

This double-matured Lagavulin has had a finishing in Pedro Ximénez Sherry Casks. A whisky that never disappoints. Nose: Pronounced peat smoke intertwines with dark fruits, honey, wax, and ash, accompanied by a subtle sour note, albeit somewhat flat. Taste: Abundant smoke and ash dominate the palate, complemented by mineral notes and a delicate fruit sweetness. Finish: A lingering finish characterized by an enduring smokiness.

An old bottling from Aberlour which has been matured in sherry casks and results in this intense whisky with soft flavours of cream, peach and hints of ripe apricots balanced by notes of chocolate and orange zest. Liquorice, honey and oak emerge at the back end leading to a long, smooth finish. 

Nose: Rich and complex, notes of toffee, butterscotch combine with ripe peach and bitter orange
Palate: Initial notes of soft apricot and cream is offset by developing flavours of old leather and oak with a touch of honey
Finish: Very long and balanced, progresses from creme brulee to a gentle oak flourish

Tamnavulin comes from the Gaelic word meaning 'mill on the hill'. The Distillery was built in 1966 and mothballed less than 30 years later. Revived in 2007, it currently has 6 stills.

This whisky was distilled in 1991 and is matured for 20 years in Refill Sherry Hogsheads before being bottled in 2011 by Gordon & Macphail. Nose: Floral notes with some cereal aromas Palate: Soft with spicy elements Finish: Slightly sweet

Kanosuke Double Distillery is a Japanese whisky made at the two distilleries owned by the family in Kagoshima, on Japan's southwest coast. Stainless Steel Pot still whisky distilled at Hioki, and single malt distilled at Kanosuke. Both spirits are aged at Kanosuke.
