Dalmore Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Dalmore Distillery is located in Alness, Scotland, which is about 20 miles north of Inverness. It sits on the banks of the Cromarty Firth overlooking the Black Isle, the "big meadowland", from which it takes its name.
Dalmore is typically characterized by densely fruity, rich sweetness with a malty cereal in the background. Ex-Sherry casks are the most commonly-used maturation cask.
In 1263, Colin of Kintail, Chief of the Mackenzie Clan protected King Alexander III of Scotland from a charging stag. The bravery earned the Mackenzie Clan "the 12-pointed Royal Stag emblem" as a reward from the King. When descendants of the Mackenzie Clan took over the ownership of The Dalmore distillery in 1867, they continued to honour this brave act and proudly put the 12-pointed Royal Stag on the bottle.
