Like the Takara Red edition, the Japanese exclusive Blanton's Black Edition was bottled exclusively for the Japanese export market. This Blanton’s Takara Black expression is made with Buffalo Trace high-rye mash bill #2, extra aged for a minimum of 8 years (as opposed to the standard 6), and bottled at 80 proof. This extra barrel ageing produces a more complex, robust, and a refined tasting experience, making the black label a highly sought after bottling by collectors as well.
